CCTV appeal after shots fired in Clapham

Police appealing for information after a suspect opened fire on a group in broad daylight have released CCTV of the incident.

The incident occurred in Lavender Hill, Clapham, on 18 May 2016 at around 17:00hrs, when a group of males became involved in an altercation with an unknown suspect on a bicycle across the road from where they were standing.

The male discharged a firearm in their direction; no one was injured.

The group then pursued the suspect who made off east on his bike along Lavender Hill. The suspect managed to get away.

A 9mm shell casing was recovered from the scene. It is believed that a 9mm hand pistol was used.

Officers from the Trident and Area Crime Command investigate.

He was wearing either a black ski mask or dark-coloured scarf over his face.

The bicycle he was riding is described as a dark coloured mountain bike.

There have been no arrests, and enquires continue.
