Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson found dead at London home

Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson died "peacefully in her sleep" from a perforated ulcer, her sister said.

The socialite's body was found in her £4.4million Penthouse flat in Chelsea flat yesterday by her cleaner, who burst into tears before setting off an alarm for help. The Portuguese cleaner, in her 30s, arrived at the former 'It' girl's west London flat at around 1.30pm on Wednesday 

Police were called by the ambulance service around 1.40pm this lunchtime to an address in Kensington.

They said: "A woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed."

Officers said her death is being treated as unexplained, but they do not believe it is suspicious.

Former 'It Girl' and reality TV star Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has revealed that she has been living with a brain tumor for over a year.

Her father has represented his country as a skier at Olympic level.
