WHCT Storage Area goes up at Harebreaks Green despite petition

During the Last week of August 2016 contractors came and erected the site which is to stay for a minimum of 2 years, but could be extended. Original plans were to have it located here for 5 years, but locals petitioned and got this reduced to 2 years.

The site manager said along with storage units there will also be offices.

One resident says he has collected over 70 signatures in a petition to get WCHT to find another location. Mr Hart suggests that a substation amount has been spent that could have been put into the estate. He recalls a budget of around one and a half million.

Watford Borough Council approved plans for Watford Community Housing Trust to create a temporary storage site on green space on the Harebreaks Green in North Watford. despite opposition from nearby homeowners in which 70 signatures collected in a petition organised by local resident Mr Hart.
