Lily Allen Music Video causes Trump tweet incident

The singer was quoting a placard held up by a protester in her video

 

The Smile singer was met with backlash when she quoted a tweet from Gay Times about her video, adding the comment "Fags hate Trump".

Lily was referencing a placard that bears the slogan which is held up by a protester in her video, a cover of Rufus Wainwright's Going To A Town, but some people were offended by her use of the word.

 

31 yr old Lily Rose Allen was born 1985 in Hammersmith, London, England. daughter of Keith Allen, a Welsh-born comedian.

 

a spokesman for Lily said: "She was referencing/retweeting something that Gay Times(GT) had tweeted which included an image of a placard being held up by a Trump protester with that wording."

At age three Allen appeared on The Comic Strip Presents... episode "The Yob"

 

One user tweeted: “Please don't refer to us as F**S, we are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender if anyone has to be labelled.”

 

Another posted: “Please don't collectively call us ‘f**s’. Some of us don't mind; but some of us hate it. Would you use the ‘N’ word collectively?”

 

The Smile singer was also called out for attempting to speak on behalf of others.

 

One user tweeted: “Isn't it funny how some pop stars, in their attempt to virtue signal, think they can speak on behalf of others?”

 

Apologising to the youngster on Victoria Derbyshire's BBC show she said: “It just seems that at three different intervals in this young boy’s life, the English in particular have put you in danger.

 

“We’ve bombed your country, put you in the hands of the Taliban and now put you in danger of risking your life to get into our country.

 

“I apologise on behalf of my country. I’m sorry for what we have put you through.”
