Migrant killed at immigration centre in Hillingdon - three migrants arrested for murder

A MAN has been killed at an immigration centre in Hillingdon, west London, sparking a murder investigation.

The incident occurred yesterday morning at Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre in Harmondsworth, West Drayton.

Police were called at approximately 9.15am following the assault. 

An ambulance crew attended and the 64-year-old victim was rushed to a west London hospital.

He died at 9.30pm that evening. Next of kin has been informed.

Three men, aged 31, 32 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. 

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Everyone involved is a detainee at the immigration centre.”

The 32-year-old man remains in custody. No further action was taken against the other two men. 

Colnbrook is a detention facility which can hold 408 people located in West Drayton, west London.

While it designated as a short-term holding facility, in practice some detainees spend years at the site. Situated near Heathrow Airport, it houses migrants who are awaiting deportation or an appeal.
