PC Ayodeji Afolabi, from the St Albans Local Crime Unit, said: “We have reason to believe that the purse and loose change may have been taken from a vehicle, therefore we are appealing to anyone who is missing items to please come forward and speak to us. It may be that you thought you had misplaced these items and not realised your vehicle had been entered, especially if no damage had been caused.”

Despite officers’ extensive search of the area, no persons were located and enquiries are continuing.

If you believe any of the items recovered belong to you, or you saw anything suspicious in the area at the time stated, please call PC Afolabi on the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 53 of September 14.
