Spiceworld - The Exhibition Tour came to Watford

A new exhibition which coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the Spice Girls hit single, Wannabe, is being held for FREE at the Watford Colosseum.

 

Spiceworld: The Exhibition opens  in Geri's hometown, Watford,  on 7 July and runs through to 7 August . The exhibition will be open during Watford Colosseum's standard opening hours, Mon - Sat 12pm - 4pm and 2 hours before a performance. The exhibition is free to attend and tickets do not need to be purchased in advance.

  • There are at least 200 items on display, all dedicated to the success of the spice girls.
  • New item on display - A red outfit with top, shorts and matching booties
  • The most expensive item which was cost £2,500, which is a dress she worn during a concert.

 

During an interview Liz revealed the internet has been here main source for finding the items, including ebay. whereas since she is known collector, that people also come to her with items.

That one item she would love to get is the "the union Jack dress" which is the considered the holy grail of items to be able to own.

 

She was contacted by the producer of Spice Girls concert in istanbul about items he had in his possession.
This included a red outfit with boots, which is the newest addition to the collection currently on show at the exhibition.

 

Liz commented "If she knew how much everything totaled in cost so far, that she would probably give her a heart attack".

Mel B had congratulated Liz on her on the success in possessing such a great collection via a tweet.

Spiceworld: The Exhibition celebrates the story of how Sporty, Baby, Scary, Posh and Watford's own Ginger became the most successful girl group of all time and enjoyed phenomenal global success. The basis for the exhibition is the Guinness World Record breaking collection of artist and curator Liz West, who is the foremost collector of Spice Girls memorabilia and merchandise in the world. The collection has been given a special seal of approval – by Scary Spice, Mel B herself - “I really hope that everyone will like this exhibition. It is truly an honour to have such an extensive collection of our past be brought out for everyone to enjoy.”

 

The Spice Girls have confirmed their are reuniting as a trio to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their debut album. A massive reunion concert at London’s Hyde Park for July 2017

Three members of the girl group - Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner - shared photos and a video this morning as they told fans about the exciting news and thanked them for their support.
